My warranty is coming to and end at the end of August, as i am seriously thinking of re-newing it with BMW, should i expect a letter or a call from them to offer me something, or do i have to make them aware of the fact that its running out. I would assume that they already know its coming towards the end, i just thought they might have contacted me earlier to give me time to think about it or at least give me some options. Anyone know how it all works?

Get in touch with them, if you let it lapse you will have to pay more.

They contact you a couple of weeks before it is due - giving you a code to access the website and get quotes.

Give them a ring if you think it is late.

I reckon its worth renewing. Depending on model it's not too expensive, my E90 is £425 for top level cover (there are 3) with £100 xs.
It also includes BMW recovery services. AA/RAC etc could easily be £100+. Cost goes up above 60k miles and not availiable over 100k.
You would only need one electronic gadget to go to be in for more than that.

Plus if you sell privately at some point it is transferable and probably a good selling point. If you sell to the trade you can get back 'unused time' you have paid for (or just pay monthly).

Once it has not been renewed, its gone.
