I've recently purchased a mint old 325i, with FSH etc. The service history book tells me it was stamped for the first 10 years by a BMW dealer that's still around, but I have no receipts with this. Now just for my own interest and any prospective purchasers in the future if I were to sell it I would like to have a print out of the work that had been done in that time.

I called the service department of said dealership and her computer was aware of the reg number, but she could not give me any further information due to 'data protection'. Apparently she could tell me when it was serviced, and stamp my book if it was missing any stamps but that was it. Is this correct? It seems a shame to lose such a weatlh of information.

Does anyone know if BMW themselves keep a record of servicing work over standard recalls etc?

I bought an M3 a while back and having gone through the supplying dealer, they could only tell me what had been done by them and no other dealer and the most crucial item was the 1200 mile running in service, so I was naturally worried despite being told the book had stamps to show it had been done. I should add the car wasn't local to me so I couldn't physically look for myself.
The dealer suggested I contact BMW UK customer service which I did and they could give me everything I needed to know about the car in terms of service history, realls carried out etc. They were very helpful.

All the best
