Z4 cd changer prep

Hi guys

I've just bought an E85 Z4, which doesn't have a 6 cd changer, just the single front loader. Does anyone know whether these come with the wiring pre prepped, so it's just a case of fitting the unit or whether it's more complex than that?

I've heard that all UK cars have the wiring prep. Not tested it myself as I've not installed my Intravee yet. Loads of info here: z4-forum.com

Not sure on the pre-wiring Q, but I do know it's an absolute bugger of a job to fit the actual changer in the correct position in the cubby between the seats. Involves dismantling a large part of the rear of the car - I've seen pics and a step-by-step guide to it across on www.z4-forum.com and it put me off trying to remove/replace my current 6-disc changer with an MP3-compatible changer.


Your best option might be an MP3-compatible headunit (black rather than grey coloured, post-April 2005 builds) if you want more music in the Z4. I shouldn't divulge that info to you as that's what I'm looking for!
