Can you 'calibrate' the fuel level sensor?
Discussion
Morning all.
Just bought a 2003 e39 530d msport auto which is greatly improving my 120 mile round trip commute to work. Lovely car. Book says a 70litre tank and I went to fill it up when the light was on and the fuel gauge right on the stoppers. So I was expecting it to be a shade over £70 to brim. Which I did.
However, only £60 went in to brim point and when I hopped in the car, the fuel gauge was only showing 7/8 full so there was obviously still 1/8 tank when i filled up
Do we think I have a duff sensor or is there an adjustment I can make? Is a sensor change something I can do myself??
Cheers
