E60 535d remap question...
Discussion
The remap is detectable easily if that is what anyone is checking for.
The 535d may also keep a stamp of the last date of a re-flash. That shouldn't be a cause for concern unless the warranty dictates owners do no flashing of the ecu memory without voiding the warranty.
The BMW TIS is very specific about looking out for remapped cars, and to void any warranty claims or dig further if they are suspected (ie, smokey cars or whatever)
Just the other side of the coin... the 535d also has oodles of torque when remapped, and the gearbox might not like it longer term, despite all the efforts of protecting it by the OEM, and maybe even the remapper (depends if they leave OEM limiters in place or edited appropriately and calibrated I suppose)
Personally I'd never remap a car in warranty unless a very comprehensive warranty was provided with it.

If you do do it, just be aware it's not a cake walk if/when things might go wrong, which they can easily do with a standard car
There is always a risk a dealer is having a bad day and decides to look deeper, so any single time it needs checking over etc at a main dealer you will need to be reverting it to avert them discovering the remap.
Just seems like lots of hassle to me for a car worth many thousands...
