... what price point should I set for my car?

2000 330d 183K miles Full BMW s/h auto everything except heated seats. Good condition paintwork but slightly scuffed aftermarket wheels. (18" Racing Dynamics RD2's).

I know it's not worth a huge amount, but my aim is to turn it into cash quickly to go towards scratching another BMW itch I've had for almost three years - so what reasonable price would you put on this car to sell it fast? (No £50 offers please!)

If you look at the classifieds on here and filter your search to 330d's from 1999 to 2001

The highest price is £8450
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/894704.htm

The lowest price is £3400 (sold btw)
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1189208.htm

So if you want to shift it quick smart then pitch it at 3k with a view to taking a bit less.

Decent spec and colour combo. I'd stick it onto pistonheads and an online ad on autotrader at maybe £3895 with a good writeup and some really nice comprehensive pics of a well polished cleaned car and see what happens. You could revise the price downwards after a day or two if required. T

£2000 is my opinion.

That mileage will scare most people.

Hmmm wink That other one sold despite being advertised at £1500 more than this.

It certainly will, but you only need one person to buy it.

I agree, mate bought a 330d sport auto with 130k miles on it for £3600, 180k miles makes a hell of a difference.

That is the whole point!

Pay £3800 and then a Turbo blows, oil breather pipe blocks....

Makes it a very expensive car.

I know this isn't what you are asking but I wouldn't personally be willing to pay any more than £2500. It could be an absolute gem. In that case I have done well for my 2.5K. It could also be an absolute lemon in which case I might as well have put 2.5k down the nearest drain. Its this risk associated with the millage that will stop you getting a figure close to what the car might actually be worth if you want a quick sale. All imo of course smile

It certainly does but turbo failure on 330d's tends to occur between 80k and 130k anyway, so the risk is present with lower mileage cars as well surely?

Any BMW has a potential to be a very expensive car.

Also, its clear other people are prepared to pay more than Paoloh for a high miles 330d.
