Whats the difference between the Navigation - Business on the business edition and Professional??

Will they play DVD's as the Audi MMI 3G??

From memory, business edition = 5 inch screen, pro edition = 7 inch screen. Pro has always had 3d, i think 3d in business edition is only a recent thing.

Most cars that have pro nav have got it as part of the media pack, meaning its got bluetooth, 6 disc changer, etc too.

BMW are doing a deal on a bus pack with the 5 series at the moment, and it would definitely be worth doing as a minimum if you're looking at new.

No they wont play DVDs.

Business always used to be Nav without a display map, just a line of text and arrow I believe - pretty worthless. Pro was the one to get.

Can a 2 year old idrive and sat nav be upgraded to the current idrive layout simply with a software update?

Dont't think so. The screen resolution is better, the screen bigger itself and it has a new controller as well.
