e36 power hood stopped working

Had the roof down today, got it half way back up and everything went dead. still got the flashing light so presume there is still power going to it.

After looking on the web i thought it might be something to do with the motors, had a look and both had popped out, put them back in and still the same,

Desperate for some help / advice, thanks in advance.
