can't fill up at Shell

Strange one this .... took my 120d to the local shell garage to fill up yesterday & the nozzel wouldn't fit ? Thought might have been something jamming on teh car, but asked teh till operator & they've had this happen with quite a few BMW's .... so I had to pay my 33p for the fuel I'd used & headed for the Esso down the road where everything was fine

Anyone else had this problem ?

There is an anti-misfuelling device fitted to the latest BMW diesels, which means the nozzle has to be the right diameter. If it is slightly too small, it won't trigger the release mechanism.

When did you last use this station? Did they manage to fit petrol nozzles on the diesel pumps? The diesel nozzle should be noticeably larger in diameter than the petrol nozzle.

I always use the shell garage for my other cars, but for some reason this was the 1st time I've taken teh BMW there. I'm not sure wether the nozzels were too small or too large .... actually thinking about it they did look the same as the petrol ones. Maybe someone has dropped a clanger & fitted the wrong nozzles :lol:
