Just tried to open the bonnet to change a headlight bulb and the cable isn't working..!!! I've taken the handle off in the car and can see the cable still attached, so I'm thinking it's failed in the engine bay, any ideas on how to open it? (E36 M3 vert)
Grab one of the kidney grilles and FIRMLY pull it out-you can then get to the bonnet catch on the slam panel and release it with a screwdriver etc, though it's still a fiddle.
