X5 remap options....
Discussion
Morning All,
I take delivery of my E70 X5 3.0 diesel next week which replaces my outgoing E53 X5. My old car was remapped by DMS which has been faultless. My question is there now appears to be more options open to me this time around with regards remapping/tuning boxes. With products offered by Superchips, Tunit, DMS, AMD and Black code to name a few.
All seemingly offer the same benefits however DMS is charging considerably more for their remap. What are peoples views on the above who have remapped their E70 X5's. Who have you used and why, is the DMS product simply overpriced compared with the rest, £350 on average vs north of £750 for DMS.
I have no complaints with the outgoing product and after sales service but if the same is available for half the price at say Superchips or "Another" then surely it is a no brainer.
Cheers.

Personally I'd go with this guy. http://www.e-maps.co.uk/
Extremely highly regarded on the BMW forums, he maps the cars for driveability and reliability rather than outright power which is a good thing imo. Have not heard one bad review either.

You would need to account for a few thing before jumping on the band wagon with just anyone... DMS are regarded very high of within this industry and produce fantastic work some would say very over priced there is a good reason for this as a hige amount of time a effort is required to develop a remap its not just up or down a value here and there.
Things to look out for
- Bespoke / Generic software
- Insurance backed ?
- Approved status ?
- Warranty ?
- Main dealer approved remapping ?
These are a few things to look out for ... Would you let someone lose on a 50K vehicle remapping and software development is not for amatures unfortunatly there are many out there willing to play around with ECU's Without knowing the end results or having any form of back up / insurance.
