bmw 325i engine transfer

here's the story, i have a 325i coupe spent loads on it as seen in pic(more pics will follow) i now need a good engine to finish it off, without spending too much as i've spent too much already. my car is a 325i automatic, coupe 1992 model and i'm wondering what other engine i could use? i looked at a 323i coupe but its a manual but with a great engine. if i want this engine i'd need to change the transmition also an i dont wanna do that as i've already replaced the ecu in the transmition and the engine ecu £££

what would u do. or can u offer any advice or u may have a compatible engine let me kno please

323 has a pretty dull engine, a 2.5 strangled to 170bhp.

Your best bet is to stick to a 2.5, no insurance changes for it being modified etc.
You'd have 2 options, the non vanos, which you have probably got, and the vanos version.

The non vanos is a sportier engine, better cams, and a tougher drivetrain, but the vanos version uses BMW's cam timing stuff which gives more torque at lower revs. Essentially, they used less fancy cams, and cam timing so spread the torque about rather than it all be up the high end.

328i engine with the 325 manifold conversion and use your existing transmission.Should be good for 210bhp

Or Play with the 325i engine with US M3 cams and 330i crank, pistons e.t.c

where about would you be coming from, i'm in stirling central scotland, if you were to pick it up, i'd say whole car with wheels £200, without £150 send me your e mail address and i'll send some pics. everything in good working order, car still has 5months mot, new brakes all round and oe suspension, a/c works and leather interior
