Hi,

I got one for my X5 from a guy on x5drivers.co.uk
His e-mail address is - gilluley@hotmail.com
Not sure if he does disc's for your car but if he does I can highly recommend him. Paid for mine ( £ 40 ) via paypal & disc arrived the next working day.
Updated my X5 nav to include birdeye view, 7 digit postcode search & speed cameras.
Fantastic product & it was easy to instal, hope this helps,
Phil.

I get my discs from Maroof.

Discs have always worked spot on and allow full post code entry.

Only £30 for 7 digit postcode + speed cameras

The other chap I spoke to said he wanted £60 for the same

Any comments?

I've had a couple of these disks (not necessarily from that guy - but a similar deal) and they have worked perfectly. The postcode entry is not slick/intuitive - but the limitations are caused by the BMW system not the disks. I would assume that latest gen. sat navs from BMW do now do full postcode by default (my car is an 07).

I spoke to BMW - and for some odd reason they do not have a 7 digit postcode search disc I can upgrade to

So, only choice looks like the non official route

Anyone else had experience of these? Good or bad?

I think the reason BMW dont have full postcode entry is because they dont want to pay the license costs to the Post Office.......

Yes, arrived promptly, well packaged, loaded quickly. Not tried it fully yet but seems a bit clearer than the BMW disc. Didn't find night mode halpful, maybe just me.

Have you got full 7 digit postcode search on the hooky disc that came through?

The 'hooky' Nav DVD's I've "seen" have made the DVD drive sound very "busy" (in the dash) - has anyone else ntoiced this?

The BMW DVD drive is fragile enough as it is, not overly happy about making it work harder!

I bought one following a recommendation on BMWland for my 07 LCI E61. As has been said, it's not slick and easy to use. It was fine for a few weeks and then the satnav kept crashing. When the OE disc was replaced, the system reset itself and was fine. I was sent two more disks by the supplier and the same thing kept happening. I even persuaded BMW to do a software upgrade but the problem resisted.
Not convinced that it's worth the trouble of trial and error.

I'm using a Sergei download torrent 09/1 that took 3 and a half days to download and works fine. It did direct me the wrong way a couple of times even with the original disc in, I got the dealer to look at it (with the original disc in of course) and it works ok now.
If I want full 7 digit PC search I use my Garmin.
