BMW 530d 2004 iDrive Dead

Hi guys, My idrive has completely died on the above car, no stereo, pdc, cruise, screen etc, I can not even eject my cd's from the changer....
I was told that some water had got into the boot and damaged the idrive modules, but I have stripped the boot to find only a fuse box and nothing to do with the iDrive... The fuse box does look like a bit of water has got to it but I took it out and nothing seems amiss, all fuses are good etc.
Any ideas? I don't believe water is at fault.
