Another E34 question, as my steering wheel is worn I'd like to swap it. If I remove the fuse and swap the wheel carefully, will the airbag work as required? Would the airbag warning light need resetting?

Or if I was to replace the wheel with a non airbagged version would that cause any problems with the warning light?

If you follow that procedure, all should work just fine.

Non airbag wheel will put the light on. You could just take it out.

Before disconnecting the airbag cables the battery should be disconnected and left for at least 10 minutes.

Thanks for tips - I'll be attempting this like amateur bomb disposal!
