120D what size tyres.
Discussion
I don't want to get into a discussion on the pros and cons of runflat tyres but I would appreciate some knowledgeable opinions on what the correct runflat tyre sizes are for my 2006 120D M Sport.
On the description which came with the car it says the rims fitted are "M Double Spoke Styling 207M 7Jx17/7.5Jx1".
I get the impression that the spec shown above has a slight error and that they should be 7Jx17 on the front and 7.5Jx17 on the back. This is probably why one BMW dealer has told me that the tyres should be 205/55 17 on the front and 245/45 17 on the back, but I'm not sure who I can trust as my "Approved Used BMW" has 205/50 17 on the front and on one rear wheel, and one 245/45 17 on the other rear wheel!
I cannot see any specifications for wheels and tyres in the owners handbook, so how is an owner supposed to know what is right?
Should it have the same size wheels and the same profile tyres front and rear, or should it have different size wheels and tyres front and rear (but obviously whatever is fitted each side should match the other).
