I've not been unhappy with the Goodyear RFTs on my E60. They wear well and grip well and the ride isn't awfull. I suspect it would be better without them but won't really know until they wear out....

i just switched from the goodyear NCT eagles on our E61 to Falken 452's. To be honest i cant tell much of a difference the NCTs were OK but at 40% more than equivalent run flats i thought i would try out with normal tyres to spot a difference. I have put an extra 2psi in the fronts over stated to make the feel a little better as they were a little too soft previously. i bought some puncture repair and a foot pump but i beleive the dealers will sell you a space saver to fit the rear well. I had planned putting a full sized spare itn eh boot but the well isnt big enough frown

I have Goodyear RFT's on my 135 and I can tell you that they are a day and night when compared to the Bridgestone RFT's on my friends 123d.

They are not a performance tyre but they ride well and grip well in the wet. If you want to stick with RFT's I would recommend them.

Surprised istoo that you have not noticed much ride difference between the runflats and Falkens. I switched from Goodyear runflats to Kumho KU31's on my E61 and ride and road noise improved dramatically. Maybe mine were older than yours (original tyres on '06 car) and they have improved? Not too worried either way since I changed on cost grounds, and it feeling like a different car was an unexpected bonus.

The NCT5 tread pattern is really, really old now. I'm surprised they turned it in to a RFT at all, they'd have been better off with the Excellence or Hydragrip.

Hello dibbly thats a start. If you google 3rd generation bridgestone runflats you should find more but this is good.

Hello mike your goodyears are they a particular style/name/type (cant think of the correct term!!) thanks ,Pete

Hi Pete.

Thanks for the link - that certainly sounds promising. The ride in my 330 is annoyingly firm to be honest but it may be that I have the tyres over-inflated - I'll need to have a play with the pressures. I had considered going to non-rft next but if they next generation are a bit more compliant that would definitely be easier than buggering about with tyre-weld and compressors etc.

They are 255x35 18s btw (on the rear anyway - cant remember the fronts, narrower with more profile I think...).
