hello everyone
first post and its a question............. hope i'll be able to help in return some time.
My 535i is an Auto. Couple of days ago it stuck in Park and I had to get recovered from work [after a 12hour night shift
]
Checked it out today. The Bowden cable interlock that runs to the ignition switch unit is the problem. The lock lever it moves at the shift stick end doesn't lift enough to unlatch. It seems to move in two stages with position 1 of the key and then agin with ign on position.
I have removed the latch lever so I can still use the car.
I have had an intermitent prob now and then for a few months in that it [engine] starts then shuts off again after a few seconds... when it does this I sometimes think that the key "feels" different.
Are the two problems connected ?
Thanks.
