I do like a Beamer.

What would be a good entry level BMW?

Only car I drove was an E30 325i sport, and that convinced me that BMW make desirable motors.

I'm not fussed about toys: raw driving thrills, leather seats, reasonable economy, reliability and affordability are what I look for in a car. Did I mention it must have leather seats? Mmmmm leather seats. And power steering is for girls and mammies boys.

Cheaper the better. Do you chaps and chapesses have any ideas?

....how about an E30 325i Sport! It meets all your criteria.

Depends on what budget you have; E36 328i Sport is also a fine car in my opinion.

Sold!

But where can I find a decent one? The classified ads don't seem to to turn up many decent unmolested non-rusty e30s, at least not for sensible money.

Is there an owners club or whatnot where the garage queens live?

That is truly a thing of beauty!

But then I think of what else I could buy for £15500 in used notes. Pork springs to mind. As does an m635csi.

Good site though, will definitely be keeping an eye on it.
