hi everyone I'm new here have loved my beemers for sometime though, I have 2 94 540i saloons one is my newly purchased 6 speed manual and the other is an auto.

My manual car has got head gasket like problems though! However I have a spare engine in the auto I'm aware I can change them over as long as I fit the crank bearing for the input shaft and swap the flywheels. But I think I may come up against a potential new problem the manual car has ASC whereas the Auto car doesn't it. This is just seems to be a different arrangement of pipework to the throttle body and an extra TPS and some sort of actuator.

The engine loom on the auto does have unused plugs could be that all I need do is change the pipe and others parts over?

If anyone has any experience or knowledge on this issue please help!!!!!!

Thanks

Huff

You should be able to just bolt the auto's engine in. The ASC/T system uses only the ABS wheel sensors and the second throttle-body/actuator, but no additional engine sensors.
