Just bought a 6 Series Convertible - looking for M6 alloys?
Discussion
I'm currently toying with the idea of a 650 - which model did you go for/age? Anything particular to look out for whilst searching?
Also, ref alloys, not the formal M6 ones, but spotted these - expires in a few hours:

Aaaa, I remember that feeling when I first got mine, that sound with the roof down and sport mode on! Hope you enjoy it mate, no doubt you will. Just watch out for speed traps, it's easy to get carried away.
I'm actually looking to sell mine now, a couple of things to watch out for (mine is an 04 so not sure if this applies to later models).
The control modules have a tendency to go haywire sometimes, check for battery drain messages. Mine has a problem where a certain module isn't going into sleep mode when the car is locked and so is draining the battery. Apparently this is common. Getting it fixed next week so hopefully just a loose wire or something.
Another common fault is random error messages from the iDrive, this again can be due to the modules or phase timings not being set properly. An easy problem to fix but annoying when told your active steering is malfunctioning when it's clearly not!
Servicing from BMW can be expensive (my last one was a touch over £3000!) so ensure that when you're buying one all the receipts, stamps etc are present.
In any case, you should pay a BMW technician the £50 or whatever they charge to come and run a full diagnostic on the car, it's the only way of seeing faults which you may otherwise miss.
Happy hunting.

Cheers thats a good write up.
Shouldn't be a problem as it's from BMW dealer with a years warranty which I'll most probably extend. The Idrive was calling for a couple of things within 6-8k miles and I negotiated them to do this before delivery. The next thing calling is rear brake pads in 24k miles so am hoping there shouldn't be any massive bills coming my way anytime soon (fingers crossed!).
It's a Dec 2004 54 reg 645i Convertible in black. Has only covered 35k miles, 1 owner from new, Has Cream Exclusive leather, Auto box, Professional Nav, Voice Control, CD changer, Adaptvive Xenons, Heated Seats, Logic 7 high fi syestem, Sport seats with memory and 18" alloys.
I managed to get lovely wheels for it today. Decided not to go for the M6 wheels as they are getting a bit chavtastic IMHO with a lot of E46 drivers fitting repica's to their cars.
Got these instead:

There's a pic in there on how they look on a black 6
Now waiting for the baby to come home

Good choice on the rims, they go nice on a black finish. Run-flats?
Brake's aren't too expensive but how long they last will be down to your driving really, I went way past the date marker with mine but I'd hardly worn through a quarter of the pads so I reset the mileage for another 10,000. Turning the key to ignition and holding down the tacometer reset button for 5 seconds gets you into the service menu, subsequently pushing the button flicks through the different service parts and holding down the button for another 3-5 seconds resets the serviceable part you're currently on. Obviously if the pads or brakes are worn too much a caution will come up, but handy to know if you think the iDrive is telling porkies and you don't fancy paying £20 for someone to reset it.
I think this works on all e60s.
