I have an e36 323 coupe. when i brought it, it was lowered. I'm not sure by how much, i think they are apex springs.
I am constantly having problems with it bottoming out on the lowest of speed bumps and multi-storey car park ramps. this problem becomes much worse when i have two people in the back. i think the handling is not quite right. the steering is light at motorway speed, and the feel of the car does not give confidence to push on. having never driven a standard e36 i don't know if this is normal (i assume not BMW ultimate driving machine etc)

i'm considering buying some standard springs and putting it back to normal, or should i buy some springs from a better spring company such as H&R.

Broken rear springs possibly? Eibach springs are also very good for the e36.

You might have a 4cyl set of springs on that can't take the weight.

Not normal and I certainly wouldn't call the steering light at any legal speed.

ok, i'll try a set of oem springs on the rear and see if that helps. the rear looks lower than the front.

surely the extra weight of the 6cyl car is over the front springs?

Posibly knackered dampers, harder springs & the stock wallowy dampers not a great combo anyway, as said above could be snapped spring, also could just be knackered RTABs they make it feel awful also maybe combined with worn wishbone bushes etc.

But if someone has used chav spec cheapo springs like Apex I'd put my $ on the geo not having been set up after fitting, so 1st thing= I'd get it checked, tracking AND camber.
