5 series 04- diesel reliability?

hi, am looking at buying a 5series diesel, not sure what engine size yet. but just wanted to know what the reliability is like, as i have a E320 cdi right now, and its now hit 170k and it hasnt really gone wrong!
any advice would be great thanks!

On the 3L D you have turbo failure that occurs around 100k mile mark.

I wouldn't mark it on your calendar but its a known weak point.

My local specialst is often replacing them. He considers it routine.
