Has anyone else had problems with their Z4 random dialling people?

My friend has a 2005 Z4 and she's having problems with her Nokia 5800 randomly dialling people. She doesn't hear the ringing - she only knows that it's dialled someone when they pick up. The people it dials seems to be quite random too - she's dialled people she hasn't spoken to in years!

She previously had a Sony Ericsson w810i and it didn't have the random dialling issue.

Her local dealer hasn't been much help. I think she has tried having her contacts solely on the SIM and also solely on the phone, but it hasn't cured the problem. Can anyone suggest anything else she can try?

It may be worth contacting an independent specialist. The Nokia 5800 uses a newer Bluetooth standard to older phones, and when I first got mine, it wouldn't communicate with my Bluetooth module properly. This was solved by simply re-flashing it with up-to-date software, although mine is an aftermarket Parrot kit, and not the factory Bluetooth.

Have a look at this company, who are very active on the Parrot forums. They may be able to point you in the right direction. Alternatively, if the dealer isn't helping, try another dealer.

Do you know how I can check what version she is running to see if a flash upgrade is possible?

I don't I'm afraid. Hopefully someone else will be along shortly with an answer to that. On the Parrot, it tells you the software version on the phone screen when the phone first connects to the kit. On my Dad's E90 with the factory Bluetooth, it comes up with part of the chassis number, but no software version.
