Hi All,

I had the misfortune to wake up today (2nd Jan) to find my house broken into and my 335D stolen (keys robbed). It was Montego Blue with 19 inch alloys and tinted rear windows. The private number plate was K7 **C which I'm sure will have changed by now. The interior is Jade Grey with Aluminium trim. There was also an isofix kid base on the passenger side. I know its very unlikely that I will ever see it again but I was hoping if anyone sees a car matching this description with a dodgy looking thieving b@stard inside you could please report it to the police! At least the police can then confim if the plate is registered or not.

I imagine its currently on a boat heading somewhere but I though it was worth an email!

Cheers.

Try to take a drive around your local area if possible mabie even a little further afield into nicer housing areas.

Theifs tend to take the cars, park them in a place where they wont look out of place then check back after a few days to see if tracker had been activated.

if you want to add it to the stolen cars wiki, it would probably get a bit of a wider audience than just in here

Sorry to hear about this. Sounds fruitless but I hope the whole experiance is as painless as possible with regards to dealings with the insurance company and the law.

I would probably cry if someone took my pride and joy. Its not just a piece of metal to an enthusiast.

Sorry to hear this - had my 335d M Touring nicked 2 months ago, so know just how you feel.

Good luck dealing with the insurers, get as much info as you can on you car to fire at them.

Mine settled fairly quickly and I picked up a VERY VERY good spec replacement 2 weeks ago.

Chin up!

Thanks Captain SC. Did they try and shaft you with the market value of your stolen car?

Yes they did try. But after a fair bit of 'discussion' with me getting costs on similar cars (very few and far between) we agreed on figure. They also messed up initially on the spec they were pricing on - took a bit to sort THAT gem out - worth getting a printout of the complete order spec from BMW. I see you have a private plate like me as well - make sure you get a letter from the insurers stating that they do not own it when you settle. You cant put it back on a car for 12 months though...

Police were just utterly pathetic about it -

All in all very frustrating and a pain in the a*se.

Hope you get it sorted ok - its a bit strange trying to find a replacement, when actually you didnt really want. Just gotta make sure new one is better/nicer or you will for ever be wishing for the old one...

(My replacement BM has Tracker and Gap Insurance... Lesson learnt!)
