Are UK 3 series' built in Germany?

The VIN number will give you the factory details - although it's only down to Country level. I can't recall the country codes; but I'm sure an expert will be along shortly

What 3 Series?

All the Coupes, Tourings and Convertibles are made in Germany only, as are all the M versions.
The 4 door saloons are made in both Germany and South Africa.

You need to decode your VIN then.

I think the 11th digit is the assembly plant code, and I think, N is the code letter for the South Africa plant.....???
