I have a bmw 7 series on a 2007 plate. I have lost the blue tooth pass code to set up blue tooth in the car. Bmw are trying to charge me £90 to give me this?!?!?!?!? Wtf!! Sure there must be a easier way to obtain this code.

There is normally a laminated card in the owners manual - unless this is what you've lost.
Also, I read somewhere that the BT module has a sticker with the code on it. It's probably in the boot somewhere ?

Is it not the last 5 digits of the chassis number? Certainly is on my E60 anyway.

This would seem to be the case; have a look here for instructions on how to find the module. It should look something like this:

Looks like you'll be paying the dealer then - although the car is still under warranty and not a cheap one, you'd think that they'd use a little discretion and not charge for it.

don’t see why we put up with such crap from dealers? were purchasing something that cost between 15 to 100k with them and they don’t have the niceness to say no worries we will do it for free. it’s not like I am asking for the head gasket to be skimmed or anything!!!

agreed. that's simply not good enough. you must have a very bad dealer you bought that from. dealer from around my area is superb both to my dad (E92 M3) and me, with my 28 year old E21! treat me like a new customer!!

Don't be such a girl, how do you think they get in there in the first place? just go easy and take your time, its only stiffened felt in the boot anyway.

If it's a 2007 model it will have iDrive - and you specify the pass code yourself.
Just do 0000 or something, then your phone will ask you to confirm, enter 0000 on the phone, and you're all done.

The car is under warranty.
Make up any 4 digit code and book it into your local dealer saying the BT doesn't work.
Alternatively get BMW Assist out.

Still don't see why you don't just remove a it of trim out of the boot and check the BT module - would take minutes !
