Hi all, my front bumper is hanging on the passanger side about just less than an inch. Its probably a clip, its been like it a couple of months and I would attempt to fix it, but I have read removal and fixing the bumper into the correct place is tricky on the E39 and with me working so much at the minute and travelling at the weekends I would rather pay someone who knows what they are doing to have a look at it. To be honest its not really a huge deal but I am picky, I want my car to look as good as it can even if its in its 10th year. How much should I be paying for a bodyshop to fix it? I have seen a few older E39's have this problem.

Is it the front part of the corner, where the foglights are, or the bit that wraps round?

The side part of the front slides into a clip so you can pull it off/push it on from the front. It'll prob feel a bit loose if that is the case.

If it is the front bit above the foglight, it might have slipped down on the bolts that hold it on, just a case of slackening the bolts, pulling it up and retightening it in the right position.

Thanks for the reply. Its the bit that wraps round close to the wheel arch, how do I go about getting to the bolts? Is it a bit of a bugger getting it off to slide back on correctly?

that's a how too for a swap, so the first half is relevant.

I guess it would bee the 27/28/29 clip part that has come loose, these are bolted onto the car, and have a slidey catch bit on the inside of the bumper that slides into them.
