E36 spoiler brakelight

mine has stopped working, anyone know how to get into the damn thing?

Before ripping it apart try giving the wire a live feed to see if it does still work. Think it's a blue and yellow wire that comes down the left hand side through that big rubber hose thing to protect them.

Yeah, I tried that, can't even get the boot lining off as it's held in with some kind of fastener that won't come off

you don't need to pull the boot lining off, just the big black rubber bit protecting the wires to get at the wires.
