Advice?

320cd msport, love it with a passion but had it just over a year and have clocked it from 30k to 61k already due to commuting. Should I change up now in current market? If so, to what? Want to stick with BMW really, but need the change to be affordable, i.e. must be 2nd hand market?

Don't want to run it to the end of it's life as quite frankly couldn't afford to go out and purchase a replacement straight up as did with this one.

Ive just bought a 56 320d with 45K on it, i plan to run it beyond 100k, proably keep it for 4 years i reckon.

I used to drive 65 miles (130 round trip) to work in my own car for 12 months.....then got a 118d with the company, to be honest id never go down that sort of commute every again......even in a company car its a serious hassle!

I think the commute is starting to get me down, but moving isn't really an option as would only end up driving out this way X-times a week to visit friends anyway, so might as well stay where I am.

The motorway is starting to get "autopilot" mode on though after a year of it, had a bit of a moment this morning where I was at one specific junction and thought - oops, can't remember any of the last 20 minutes of this journey...

I always do that. Doesn't mean I'm not concentrating at the time though.

Agree 100%.

Many moons ago I bought an E36 318i with 110k on the clock - ran it for another 30k - apart from the usual servicing costs it never missed a beat and when I sold it with just over 140k it was running as well as ever.

Yours being a diesel is even better and with motorway miles, the variable servicing will work well for you.

You said you love the car - no brainer whether you're making the decision with head or heart - keep it!!

bought a 525i with 202k on did 20k pa for a couple of years, flogged it on as fancied an auto.

then bought a 530iA with 142k, now on 157k after 8mths and plan to continue using it for my 70 mile commute for 2 more years.

costs a bit to run but hardly any depreciation.
