e39 530d - car is juddering above 3,000

Chaps - this has just started to happen - last couple of days the car has started to judder above 3,000 revs but it's not consistent. Sometimes she'll accelerate past 3,000 revs no problem other times it's judder, judder all the way.

So am now driving like Miss Daisy whilst I try to work out what's wrong.

Any ideas? fuel pump perhaps? egr valve? gearbox?

Might be your injectors on there way out . Any other probs eg. Starting etc

Well it died a death today. Cut out on me as i was driving out of Pembroke. AA came, their obd computer wouldn't work so it's been towed to a specialist.

It said Fuel injection system on the dashboard (in writing).

So we'll see.

Dam we've had many of these cars with this engine and sort of problem, never cut out with that message though. keep us posted on what happens.

Looks like it's the high pressure fuel pump. ouch.
