I've asked this on an e46 forum, haven't yet found a solution, just wanted to see if anyone here has experienced it.

On the driver's seat if I click the switch to move it forward and hold it there nothing happens, if I then try a second time it will work and the seat will move forward, it's the same when I try to move the seat back, it only works on the second click, all other directions work on the first click. The passenger seat always works on the first click. Not a major problem, just a little annoyance.

OK, I'll dive in , then! e39 with leccie seats, rather than e46, but, have you tried disconnecting the battery, leaving it, then seeing whether it's gone back to normal? It might be a programming issue? Alternatively, I'd hazard that maybe the switch is on it's way out?
