BMW Judders when put into gear with low rev's.....?

My BMW 330d Sport Auto (2003) in the last few weeks has started to get a judder when it's put into gear (reverse or 1st) You can only notice it though when the car moves under tick over rev's. I only noticed it when sat in traffic.

I took it to a garage last week for it's MOT & the mechanic informed me that the front discs were 'wharped' and that this was making the car judder at low revs or 0-5 mph.

I have changed these (£100+) but has made no difference whatsoever. I am now worried that it's something more serious like the auto gearbox going....! Before I take it to a BMW specialist and fork out ££LOADS MORE££, does/has anyone else experienced this..??
