X3 - Locating Ignition Switched Power Supply???
Discussion
Hi all!
I need some help!
I've just bought a 55plate X3 2.0D SE. I've installed a Parrot with ipod and bluetooth interface. The problem I'm having is that I've connected the ignition supply cable from the parrot to the cigarette lighter/aux cable but it turns out it is battery direct fed. My previous 1series was connected to the cigarette lighter and worked fine. Can't believe they don't wire their cars consistantly. It works fine but I'll end up with a flat battery!
Does anyone know where I can get easy access to a switched supply? If so where is the cable and what colour it is?
Thanks in advance for the help,
David

The only place I know of on some of the new BMWs, as it is all done over can bus now, is down in the drivers side footwell, they is a block in there and one of the wires is ignition switched.
You will need a multimeter to test them all though.
Search www.e90post.com and a users posts called 'technic' and you should find reference, whether it is the same for the X3 I don't know, other wise it will have to be a can bus adapter.
