Really need some help trying to track some service history..
Discussion
Hi everyone,
Does anyone have the ability to find out the service history of a 530 Sport that i am looking to buy?
I have looked at previous postings and there have been a couple of really great responses but unfortunately, as a newbie, i am not allowed to email them for the first 48 hours or something.
The car details are as follows:
BMW 530 Sport
Topaz Blue
Original Registration : Y901XAN
Current Private Plate A20 CYP
LAST 7 DIGITS vin no. CE64586
I am led to believe that it was originally serviced at BMW Williams in Bolton (this i can verify) but then after this one service, the trail goes cold!
Any help would be greatly appreciated (and if you can send beer in the post, there is a pint in it for you!)
Many thanks
Paul

sure, but you are dropping a few k on a car - it would be stupid not to spend a couple of quid checking with BMW directly. With all due respect to other posters, I wouldn't trust some anonymous poster on here posting the correct details anyway.....imhothanks Christer - absolutely agree.
ive just checked back through previous forum postings (should have done so before starting this one off as i see it is a common request).
Apologies if i have irritated anyone, i can see this request from newbies becoming very annoying.
The current owner told me that he called BMW and they confirmed it had been to BMW SC Tring 11 times under a previous owner yet when i called SC Tring, they said they hadn't seen the car at all. I called the BMW hotline and they also told me that it had been to SC Tring 11 times.
I called SC Tring back and they said that it might not be showing on the systems because they were taken over by Pendragon and that the servicing would have taken place prior to this. They said that Pendragon are likely to have the records still though so its now a case of chasing them up.
I feel quite happy that BMW have confirmed this, my only real worry is this 'auto box going bang' issue. The car i am looking at has done 130k and whilst i think im getting a good price, it wouldnt be if i had to factor in £2k - £3.5k for a new one!
Any ideas how you sport an auto box on the way out???

318, Z4 and soon to be 530 Sport!

That's where I got my Z4MC from - although it's not actually in Tring, it's in a village called Cow Roast, where I had to drive on 18-December (in all that snow) to get my service book stamped as they'd 'forgotten'.
