E92 330d Headlight Washer Jets Missing - UK Only

Follow the recent cold weather we've had in the UK, my near-side headlight washer jet disappeared.
Apparently, the water in it had frozen and the pressure from the pump hap "popper" it off the front of the car, somewhere on the M4 (I think).
Quick trip to the dealer to be told that this wasn't a warranty item, as it's classed as external trim - what a load of crap.
Then told there is a huge back order of these parts due to the cold weather, and it would take nearly a month to get the parts in stock.
Been browsing the web recently for other cars with the same problem, and came across loads. Some posters claim that BMW Customer Services have accepted that it is a bad design and are agreeing to warranty repairs.
Before I start ringing people and shouting at them, I was wondering if anyone here has experienced this problem, and had any luck claiming on their warranty ??
