Hi all. Not new to Pistonheads but new to this room. I picked up my E60 520d on monday and i have a few glitches to sort out one of which is the complete lack of reception on the radio. The CD works fine as dose the multichanger but i cant pick anything up at all on either FM or AM? All of a sudden last night it started working and i got fantastic reception on both FM and AM! However this morning we are back to silence. When it worked it gave the station name in the bottom left hand of the screen and a T appeared at the bottom of the screen also. However now i just get the frequency and no T which i'm assuming is simply a result of no signal. Any help would be much appreciated as its really starting to annoy me. I am thinking bad connection but it dosent come on over bumps etc. frown

Mate I know exactly what you’re going through. This happened with my 7 series. But it was just affecting my a.m signal more than the f.m. 3 trips to the local sythner garage and they kept saying there nothing wrong and that a.m signal is cack any way. Finally took it to a independent specialist who diagnosed the fault straight away. The antenna in the back windscreen had burnt out. This actually happens quite a lot with beemers!!

Dose that require a new rear screen then or is there a fix for it? I would expect to be able to pick something up at least even with no aerial attached, but i scan and it dosent pick up a single station even when i search thru manually. I find it really odd how it suddenly started working properly last night and then this morning there was nothing again without even moving the car??? Did you get yours fixed?
