e91 towbar experience wanted.
Discussion
I'm intending to fit a towbar to an e91 and the average bargain bucket towbar appears to need the removal of the rear bumper rams. I see no advantage in buying a car with 5 ncap stars then chucking away some of the safety features.
So; not to prevaricate around the shrubbery; does anyone know if the gen BMW article does not compromise the safety aspect ?
It appears that the gen article is similar if not the same as the Schmiedmann electric release one. That's nearl a Grand's worth of kit (well that is to say it cost's a Grand, which is not neccesarily meaning it's worth a Grand)
(My Volvo has now got a gen Volvo bar that clears the bumper and lets it travel in on it's shock absorbers as it should. The Witter bar that it had, was sandwiched between the bumper and the space that was reserved for it to move into in the event of rear impact.)
Don't I go on ?
