18", 19" or 20" wheels on 2010 X5 ?

Hi,

I'm hoping someone has first hand experience of both 19" and 20" wheels on an M-Sport X5 - we spec'd ours with the slightly OTT 20" wheels on 315/35/20 tyres and it was clearly a mistake. It looks great, but the ride is a nightmare on the UK's potholed roads.

Do the 19" (or even the 18s from the SE) fit straight on, snd if so, do they make a big difference?

I tried both the 19 and 20 versions and bought the 19. Ride is fine (here in Switzerland) but I was in UK over winter on my 18" winter wheels and the ride was fine.

I understand there is no major differences in the car itself when you spec the large wheels so 18 should fit. The only difference I think is that the wider 20" wheels also have the little wheel arch extensions on, which look a little "silly" with the narrower tyres.
