My 120d has the remainder of a Nokia car kit fitted but now only has the twirly knob thingy (see below) stuck next to the gearstick and I think the aerial in the tax disc holder.I dont use the kit but everytime I get in the car and drive off after a few seconds there is a bleep and the business stereo shows phone. Can I turn this off in the stereo settings anywhere ?

There is no phone cradle in the car and I have my phones Bluetooth switched off.

Thanks all

This sounds like either a CK-7W or CK-1W, neither of which have cradles (although they are compatible with them). There should also be a microphone somewhere; this could have been fitted behind the grill near the rear view mirror.

We used to have CK-7Ws in our works cars, and they all did this; you're hearing the beep because the kit cannot find a paired bluetooth device. I could never find a way to switch this off, other than by disconnecting the speaker, which is normally mounted somewhere in the passenger footwell area.

Apologies if I've missed something, but what are you using as a handsfree solution? Why not use this car kit? If you switch your phone's bluetooth on and search for new devices, it will find the Nokia kit, which you can then pair with it. That way, you get the use of an integrated car kit, and it won't beep every time you switch the ignition on.

She can, but pair her Samsung first, then your Nokia, as the kit will always connect to the last phone that was paired with it. By doing this, you're giving your phone priority, and the bluetooth kit will then only connect to her Samsung phone if it can't find yours.

I forgot to say in my earlier post, if you don't already know, the passcode for the car kit is 0000.

Oops just been out and paired my Nokia up with it and it worked fine.Mind you she is generally in the car more often than me.

I assume it will automatically pair everytime I get into the car without having to do anything ?

By the way it is a CK-7W kit.

Thanks again.

If it's an issue, you can erase all previously paired phones by switching the ignition off and then pressing and holding the button on the controller. A beep will tell you when the list has been erased. You can then pair them in order.

If it's working correctly, yes, it should automatically find the phone and connect to it.
