Tried to remove the engine splash gaurd from under my car at the weekend - took out all the fixings etc, it slumped down but still seems to be attached to the front bumper in some way. Do i have to pull it down 45 degrees before it slides out or something? Trouble is, I cant get my car that far off the ground - only using axle stands...or if someone has a better way of getting to the AC belt...!?

Thanks, Andy

If all the fixings are released, just pull it towards the rear of the car and it should drop down free.

I wish mine was fixed that well.

When I looked under it last week, I found the tray had apparently 'self removed'

Either that, or the kids had nicked it to go sledging when the snow was on

Sit facing the car with you legs under the bumper. Grab the pan on both sides.

Push with one hand and pull with the other, it takes a bit of jiggling but it will come. Try to support the back of it, if it flexes too much they can break around the edges.

Thanks guys - still couldnt get it to budge! I had a closer look, the bit thats pushed into the bumper has a 2 inch 45 degree lip. Thanks for the advice though - I maybe didnt give it enough brute force! Managed to do both grooved belts without removing the fan or cowl, pain in the A though!
