How can I find out the spec of a car from the reg?

The reason I ask is that I am looking for a 535D but I have seen a massive difference in the amount of detail offered from an advert, and having seen a few I have come to the conclusion that there are some owners who don’t know what spec their car is!

One example is the Logic7 system, this is one of my must haves and I have not seen 2 cars which were advertised as having it but actually didn’t. I have also looked at one which had the BMW 'Business' radio which was Logic7.

What I want is a list of options, general spec, of a car from its registration. Is that possible from anywhere? I have asked a dealer and they said they would do it if they were supplying the car, fair point.

Ring round a few main dealers until you find a friendly one... It might help if you're female...

They should be able to give you quite a bit of info...

You can ring BMW customer services with the vehicle registration number and they will tell you a full list of specification and service history.
I think it is a premium number now, rather than a freephone, but it is a good service.

Logic 7 ain't all it's cracked up to be ......be prepared to change your Amp......

If you phone round any BMW dealers they should be able to supply you with more info but they WILL ask for the last 7 digits of the VIN number.
