E46 bluetooth phone compatability

[Toilet Duck]

Hello all

I have an 05 E46 M3 with factory fit bluetooth. Is there a definitive list out there of which phones are compatible? I'm looking to change my mobile soon but don't want to end up with one that isn't compatable with the hands free bluetooth system. Is it possible to upgrade the firmware on the cars bluetooth system like you can upgrade the satnav firmware? Also, I don't want to fit a Parrot bluetooth kit or similar in case anyone suggests that

Cheers in advance!
