Hi all,

I am getting a new car and plan to put my Carbon Black 530D M Sport up for sale in the coming weeks. I am a bit out of touch with BMW prices of late and would ge grateful for an indication of how much I can expect to get for it.

Details are:

BMW 530D M Sport Switchable Auto in Carbon Black
September 2006 (56 plate)
Covered approx. 33k miles with Full BMW Service History

Factory fitted options include:
- Black leather
- 19" wheels
- Media Pack (Professional colour sat nav, Bluetooth phone, Voice control and 6CD changer) - comes with official 2008 discs
- Visibility Pack (which includes Xenon lights, adaptive lights plus headlight washers)
- Advanced Dual Climate Control
- Sunroof
- Cruise Control
- Sun Protection Glass

The great thing about these cars is that they have what BMW call conditional based servicing - basically there is no service interval, the car tells you when it needs things done. It is currently telling me that it will need an oil service in 2k miles which I will get done at BMW.

The real benefit of my car is that it comes with a transferable BMW warranty until end of September, which can then be extended further by the new owner.

So what do you think of a realistic sale price ?

Search autotrader for that spec for private and trade 'sales' value and knock off appropriate markup/barteringmoney.

I'd put it up at £19,500 and be willing to accept around £19k

I have been looking for a while now and if yours had Logic7 I would have offered you £17k, but thats as I am not too keen on Black/Black combo. If it was another colour then it would be higher.

If its the right spec the right person will pay top dollar for it which I would expect to be about £19k due to the very low miles. Some cars with 100k+ are 7-8k cheaper.

Mileage and spec will be attractive from majority on sale.

Glasses px values:

Vehicle summary

BMW 5 Series 530d M Sport
3.0TD Diesel 4-door Saloon
6 Speed Automatic Rear Wheel Drive
Year: 2006 56
Mileage: 33,000

Estimated value of your car

Part-exchange Price:
Excellent condition:
£18900
Average condition:
£16800
Below average condition:
£14950

note: part ex values so direct sale may be lower considering margin on new car? Perhaps call a few dealers and ask what they will give you for it and then price a bit higher.

Perhaps '£19,000 ONO'' and see if the phone rings, if not then drop further.
