Had a problem with injectors earlier in year replaced fuel pump filter and injector. Last few days thought I noticed a slight problem with automatic trying to find the gear but it righted itself till today! Drove 140 miles came to a set of lights and waited whilst on red then suddenly the engine cut out showing the coil on the dash. RAC man suggested a gear box problem maybe a sensor in the gear box. The car will not start, it turns over. Has anyone encountered this problem and can you suggest where I go from here apart from dumping my much treasured 2002 BMW in the cut!!!!

Tried disconnecting the battery temporarily?

Otherwise I think you'll have to recover it to a specialist..hope that the gearbox hasn't gone as it will be the bad side of £1500 to fix frown

Sounds like injector problems again one or more probably leaking off and rail can't build enough pressure so system shuts down will just turn over and over till battery flat
