E39 Kidney Grill

Can anyone explain, or does any one have any pics of the difference between the pre and post face lift grills?

My car is a 98 e39 so am pretty sure it has the old grill. In the ads I have notice a few people have updated the grills but can't seem to see any obvious difference.

Yes, your car would have the old grille; the facelift was end of '00/ beginning '01.

Looks to me like it's simply a case of a wider chrome border, stretched widest at the outside top corners to slightly change the overall shape.

All facelift cars - October 2000 onwards - have a grlle which has wider chrome edging.



Thats mine - with facelift grille. You'll notice how it's a little different to the front of your prefacelift model.

Looks exactly the same as mine, But I have V8 grille's which I dont like the look of on silver!
