2006/2007 335I Sat Nav

M'arnin'. Tentitively thinking about getting into a 2006/2007 335i (nothing too nasty to worry about I've been told) but just wondering if the sat nav is the full postcode search and how easy it is to bring it up to date with new maps when the time comes?

I have sat nav in my 335d 56 model and it only accepts 5 digits, there are discs around on the net for about £35 that says you can update and put in 7 digit. Ive got one of these discs in mine and it will allow you to put 7 digit in but its too labour/time intensive to do (not user frendly). Saying all that, It does have all the police cameras on it though, however does not have audible bleep when youre near to a camera so you must watch the screen to see if one is close by.

Pretty certain it is not full postcode (isn't on my 56 plate E60). I think the only way to get it is to buy a hooky disk from eBay. If I recall correctly it allows postcode entry via POIs.

Maps can be updated but are expensive - copy disks might be the best bet for this too.

All that said, I find entering addresses a doddle without postcode functionality and I can only think of one occasion when my maps have been out of date following road alterations and even then it was no big deal.
