1989 5 Series wont start?

hi guys,
just shopping around for some early 5 series and i came across one in almost perfect condition, the only problem is that it seems that it wont start. This is what they wrote up:
"Car worked well and was handed in for scrappage at Skoda in Epsom but changed mind. The good condition vehicle has been stationary there for a while and the dead battery means that the factory fitted immobiliser has kicked in."
Anybody got any ideas how this could be resolved?
