Alpinas are hard to price I know but I am trying to sell my B3s. The main dealer I had it serviced by reconed privately it was worth £11000. I want £9500. I have it marked at £9750 and would bend over at £9000. No one seems to be looking at the moment. Is it the wrong time to sell? Have I got the price wrong? ( facelift 2003 b3s 94k saloon in met black. Full BMW history next service (oil) in 9500 miles )
Any advice guys?

I sold my B10 in Jan this year, placed 4 separate ads over 4 months, even then I sold to the only caller!!

Your ad looks ok but I'd advise upgrading the advert to show more photos, daft as it sounds buyers do like to see the interior & under the bonnet.

Price wise, £9500 seems fair but not a stand out '" Come & get me" price, good luck with finding a new owner .

As a comparison, I have just looked at a non-S B3 in a BMW main dealer. 2003, 52 plate, 81,000 miles. They wanted £9,995 for it. I suppose, with lower miles than yours, and as it is an official BMW used car with a 1 year warranty, with the normal dealer premium, it is likely to be a bit more expensive than yours. I felt it was a bit much for what it was - the non-S model just didn't feel that much better than my 530 Sport. Better, but not better enough to justify the cost to change.

From what I hear, the S is another step on, but niche cars are, of course, very sensitive to there happening to be someone around who wants that particular vehicle. I have owned several niche cars (own one now - Alpine GTA), and buying them is easy....

Speaking of which, I don't know how to send a personal message via the site, but there might be something to chat about....

Alpinas always take months to sell unless you are really lucky.

If yours was a coupe or a touring it would have been snapped up, the saloon is the sensible choice and when they get to 8 years old people looking for an Alpina are not normally doing sensible, those doing sensible will just buy a 330i or even worse a 330d.

The other problem is you have things like the E90 330i now pretty close to your car price wise.

I know they are a different beast, but this is the way most buyers see things.

It doesn't help that cars like the B3s coupe at Hillingdon Motor Co was being advertised at £7k with dealer facilities either, people looking for Alpinas will have seen that car.

You do need some decent pics up of the interior, I wouldn't look twice at a car unless there were interior shots.

I don't think the price is far off to be honest, just a case of waiting for someone who wants it to come along.
