It was a dealer fit option. Occasionally come up on ebay.
The centre brake light is easier to get hold of (standard fit on Alpinas I think)

This question is often asked on www.z4-forum.com.

Depends entirely on whether you've xenons or not.
I believe the xenon clear lights are in the region of £700 from your local stealer.

You cant (unless you're very, very good - CJ wink) take apart the headlight unit and replace the orange with clear, so you'll want to scour eBay constantly for a set imo.

Or, just live with them wink

The only options you had were Xenons or not if I remember correctly
The "clear" ones weren't an option - they were standard in the final "pre-facelift" year, and again standard on all "post-facelift".

Also, they are a direct replacement (fronts) regardless of the facelift or pre-facelift type.

Sorry, I was thimking about the rear lights.

As has been said, you'll need to find a set of facelift lights of equivalent spec (i.e. xenon or halogen)

Very, very easy. Side repeaters simply twist off, remove bulb and replace with clear items. Rear lights you can simply unscrew from boot and replace and 3rd brake light is probably the fiddliest due to long screws but doable with correct tool.

I don't see them come up for sale very often but got lucky with mine. Expensive from a dealer though and do not under any circumstances let them charge you for fitting.

Does definitely improve the look no end though!

In terms of fronts, as already commented on, very expensive but do look the business. If I ever came across some clear facelift xenons at a decent price, I'd jump at the opportunity.
